Lookup helps identify similar signs, assess risks, and adjust protectionist strategies before a business invests heavily in a brand.

Trademark search is the step of collecting and analyzing information about published applications or diplomas to identify the possibility of the same or similar to the intended sign of registration.

Reduce risk before investing

Businesses typically invest in name, packaging, signage, domain, and communication before applying. If there is a risk of conflict, making late changes can be costly. Early search helps to have more basis to choose or adjust the plan.

What to look up?

  • Sign, pronunciation and meaning of the brand name.
  • The visual cues, layout, and prominent elements of the logo.
  • Group of products and services according to Nice classification.
  • The applicant, legal status and scope of goods and services of the control results.

Reference tools

Users can look up Vietnamese trademark information on Intellectual Property Office WIPO Publish∙ The system supports fields such as application number, trademark, applicant and Nice classification. For international needs, WIPO’s global brand database can be consulted.

Limit of lookup results

Lookup does not have to decide whether to grant or reject a diploma. Results depend on published data, keyword placement, and expert judgment. Therefore, the search report should be seen as a tool to support the decision and build the application strategy.
